msm softwareAs a novice I tried PC Advisers recommendation to remove unwanted programmes but I hate the result, any ideas,

I removed ATI software, DIV X, MSM, Quicktime and am left with a grainey maginified screen. Sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone.
DIVX is simply amsm software codec and doesn't affect display quality...only the ability to play certain types of media, same with Quicktime. the ATI software is most likely your problemsm softwarem. you have an ATI grpahics card(or you wouldn't have the software!). you can download the latest from ATI's website for free and install it.
