When I try to go to the free McAfee software download page it tells me it can't find the page
Here is what to do.
1) Do not download McAfee, It sucks!
2) Go to avast.com and download the Avast 4 home anti-virus.

Could be a trojan or virus infecting your computer is preventing this !
Some trojans block online scanner sites. Download SDFix from here if you can:
If not, do a Google search then click on "cached" instead of the usual link. Or download it from another computer and save tofree mcafee software download a thumb drive. Go into Safe Mode and run the install and the program from there. It found all traces on my computer.
Once it's done download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here:
to clean more traces.
If you can't run SDFix, or Anti-Malware, go to the Malwarebytes folder in the Program Files, copy all the files to a new folder called MAM in the root directory..... C:\MAM\ Then in that folder rename the file MBAM.exe to something else like MAM.exe and double click it - it should run now.

You can protect your computer very well with free programs.
You should however not rely on just one program.
